Typhooon H 480 December 11, 2025

We resurrect a 2016-vintage drone for this flight on December 11, 2025. It's a Yuneec Typhoon H 480 hexacopter. With an upcoming U.S. Government ban of our DJI and Autel Robotics drones later this month a distinct possibility, it was time to make sure the Typhoon H still flies. Although Yuneec Electric Aviation is also based in China just like Yuneec and Autel, the U.S. doesn't seem to think Yuneec is a security risk.

Not intended as a product review or a tutorial, the video may sound like one. But we wanted to explain what the Typhoon H can do compared to the newer DJI and Autel models for those who've never seen one. Although this was the original 480 model, as of December 2025, you can still by a similar and just slightly bigger Typhoon H Plus at (B&H Photo) for under $1,900.
